I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to add “expert job seeker” to my resume pretty soon. I’ve been searching for a job for six months now. The first two months of my job search took place remotely (pre-move), but the last four have been here in the city where I want to work. If you read my blog regularly, or see my status updates on facebook and twitter, or talk to me, you know that this has been an exhausting, emotional, tiring, and frustrating process. I take solace in the fact that this seems to be the general public’s feeling on the search process, as well (i.e. I’m not alone).
But I’m learning in the process.
I’m getting better as I go.
I know that I’m learning valuable lessons.
So, I thought I’d take some time over the next 3 days to share a few things that have and haven’t worked for me with the hope that maybe this will help someone else today or someday who’s in the same boat. I’m also hoping to generate some dialogue and get some pointers from others who have searched for jobs and have been successful.
